Dear See’s Family,

2020 needs more good news—and here’s some from See’s: We are back! I am happy to announce that as of this week, every See’s shop that can be open, is. Less than 10% of our stores are in mall locations where the mall itself is not open, but every other See’s shop is operating for pick up service at the least.

See’s is, in my view and the view of many of you, essential. You need joy, and we provide it. We have truly appreciated your patience and the words of concern, care, and now, happiness, as we’ve taken time to prepare and adjust to the safe operation of our stores. I said early on that we will not trade employee health for sales, and we’ve kept to that.

Most of our locations are currently open for pick up service only, but we are starting to bring customers inside a limited number of shops and plan to add more each week. It has been a pleasure to work in our shops again and do what we do best—provide great customer service and bring you fresh, American-made delicious candy.

Quality Without Compromise remains our motto. It guides all we do, from how we make our candy with the freshest ingredients, to the way we put our valued employees and customers first. As we are working to re-open, we are keeping a keen eye on and carefully following all state and local regulations. Before each shop opens for walk-in business, we send a management team to measure every aspect of the store and to retrain our associates to operate in this new environment. We’ve added new measures, like plexiglass and fun signage and floor decals to protect you and our hard-working teams. We require employees and customers to wear masks and limit the number of candy lovers who can enter at one time.

Our goal is to keep you and our employees safe while delivering the outstanding customer service you expect from See’s.

If coming in the store doesn’t suit you, we have you covered. You can go online to pickup.sees.com, select your closest shop, browse your favorites, and then place an order through Click → Pick → Go! for contact-free pick up. We are also taking shop pick up orders by phone and offering online delivery through sees.com to satisfy all your candy cravings.

It is inspiring to see how hard our teams have worked in our kitchens and in every part of the business to make the candy that has made See’s famous and get it back in shops. As President and CEO, I am very fortunate to work with our committed and talented team who are looking out for one another, operating safely, and getting us back to what we do every day.

Finally, at See’s, giving back is important to us. To thank our customers and communities, we started donating candy at the onset of the crisis. One of the things we are most proud of is that our candy is made fresh, and we don’t add preservatives. So, faced with the choice of throwing candy away because stores were closed in March, we mobilized to identify organizations that could put our wonderful product to use.

We’ve donated hundreds of thousands of pounds of See’s candy to nearly 250 organizations throughout the west. Nearly one million people have received a See’s treat through a food bank or from a charitable organization, hospital, or school to which we’ve delivered candy. Kids and families, front line health care workers and first responders, and people in need of a smile have received our product and they’ve told us how much they appreciate it. The thanks on social media and in the letters I get to read are heartfelt and moving. It is an honor to serve so many who make a difference in our communities, and we will continue to support organizations that can use a smile.

Thank you for your patience and continued support as we’ve gotten through this difficult time. We are excited to put on our masks, wear the See’s name proudly, and get back to the business of providing you with the best candy you can find anywhere.

It’s good to be back.

All the best,
