It All Started with Mary

Before See’s, there was simply Mary See: a homemade candy maker with a talent for creating delectable confections from scratch. Perfectly enough, her son Charles had a sweet dream of launching his own candy company in California, using his mother’s irresistible recipes to delight customers. It would be the start of something delicious.

From the very beginning, Charles was determined to instill his mother’s values and spirit into his up-and-coming business. He took inspiration from her black-and-white checkerboard kitchen for our now iconic shop interior. Perhaps more importantly, he never strayed from his mother’s commitment to using only the best ingredients available.

Over 100 years later, Mary’s great pride in quality remains the heart and soul of our candy company. In keeping with our tasty tradition, we continue to use only the highest quality ingredients, hand-pack our boxed assortments and artfully hand-decorate special seasonal items. In honor of Mary’s influence, we’ve compiled a list of tasty treats and birthday gifts we know she would’ve loved!
